The Global Gender Gap Report 2024

This report from the World Economic Forum measures gender disparities in 146 countries and tracks their progress over time, focusing on the relative gaps between women and men across four key dimensions: economic participation and opportunity, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment. The 2024 edition finds that 68.5% of the global gender gap has closed; though at its current rate of change, it will still take 134 years to close, seeing only slight improvement since 2023. While gaps in educational attainment and health and survival are nearly closed worldwide, urgent action is needed in economic and political spheres, especially women’s political participation and leadership.

The report examines the state of gender gaps in the workforce, providing data and figures for gender gaps in labor force participation, representation across industries, leadership, STEM occupations, political representation, and more. The report is accompanied by a summary of key findings, a digital version of the report, shareable infographics, and country profiles.
